Sydney Internship Visa Requirements

U.S. citizens need to obtain the Work and Holiday Visa which is $230AUD. This price is not included in the program cost.

Citizens out-side of the US (specific list) - have to get the Working Holiday Visa which is $230AUD. This price is not included in the program cost.

Work and Holiday Overview (visa U.S. citizens apply for)

US citizens wishing to come to Australia must:

• Be aged 18-30 years old (at the time you apply)
• Be outside of Australia when you apply for and are granted the visa
• Show evidence you are enrolled in a post secondary course of study or hold post secondary qualifications
• Have funds for a return or onward ticket to depart Australia (or an actual ticket)
• Meet health and character requirements- depending on the country you are from and your intentions in Australia, you may need to undertake a medical examination. More information is available here.
• Hold a valid passport from an eligible country, preferably valid for 6 months
• Not be accompanied by dependent children
• Not have entered Australia on a Work and Holiday (subclass 462) or Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa
• Have not previously entered Australia on a Work and Holiday visa
• Have health insurance (recommended) covering your stay in Australia. This can be obtained in your home country or in Australia. More information is available here.

Working Holiday Overview( visa for international students from specific countries wishing to travel to Australia)

Countries for working holiday visa:

Applicants wishing to come to Australia must:

• Be aged 18-30 years old inclusive (at the time you apply)
• Hold a passport from an eligible country, preferably valid for at least 6 months
• Have no dependent children
• Be outside Australia when you apply and when the visa is granted (except applicants for a second Working Holiday visa)
• Not have entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa previously
• Have sufficient funds (generally AUD5,000)
• Have funds for a return or onward ticket to depart Australia (or an actual ticket)
• Have health insurance (recommended) to cover your stay in Australia. More information is available here.

Applicants for a first Working Holiday visa must be outside Australia and not have previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa.

Applicants for a second Working Holiday visa must also:

• Entered Australia on no more than one Working Holiday visa previously; and
• Done specified work in regional Australia for a minimum of 3 months (88 days in total) while holding a Working Holiday visa
